Science Communication Awards

The Science Communication Awards are being granted to deserving researchers who, on top of that, excel in the communication about their passion in science. The Career Prize (‘Loopbaanprijs’) honours a career-long exceptional attention to science communication. Various Yearly Prizes (‘Jaarprijzen’) are being awarded to researchers or teams of researchers that have realized an important publication or organized an important event or activity with science communication impact in 2016 or 2017. The prizes are being awarded by the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts (Koninklijke Vlaamse Academie van België voor Wetenschappen en Kunsten) and the Young Academy (Jonge Academie).
 
The winners are being honoured in the Palace of the Academies during an event towards the end of the year, typically in November. At that moment a ‘public’s favourite’ will also be honoured, elected through on-line voting in collaboration with the science magazine EOS.
